Techno-Tamaladas at Oakland Museum of California

The Techno-Tamaladas will share our conceptual tamale making in the Friday nights events & activations series at the Oakland Museum of California. The evening is a book release for Art as Social Practice: Technologies for Change, with artists workshops featuring Chris Johnson, the Techno-Tamaladas, and book editors xtine burrough and Judy Walgren. Events are from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, we will be making conceptual tamales with the public in the California Room from 6-7:30pm. Come make a conceptual tamale to give away during the holiday season!

Art as Social Practice: Technologies for Change is a book released in 2022 that highlights socially engaged art practices in the twenty-first century. It explores how artists use their creative practices to raise consciousness, form communities, create change, and bring forth social impact through new technologies and digital practices.
