LORENA LO PEÑA  (Lima, 1981)

Lorena completed her B.A. in ‘Performing Arts’ at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (2008), M.A. in 'Contemporary Performance Making' from Brunel University (2011) and M.A. in 'Creative Producing for Live Performance' at the University of London, Birkbeck College (2013), both in the UK. Her artistic research crosses the liminal spaces between physical action, body art, multimedia, interactive and relational performance art, investigating within gender, identity and body politics, with a documentary and autobiographical approach.

In her performative research, she incorporates videos, costumes, props, sound and space installations, among other technologies, understanding them as an extension / projection / radiography / revelation of the bodily and social experience, as an extension of the 'I' / 'being' and it's intersubjective relationship with her / them 'others'. Since 2009 she has presented her work and participated at various international performing and performance art related festivals, seminars, congresses and residency programs in Peru, Cuba, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Denmark, United Kingdom, Germany and Austria (in virtual mode).

She has more than 15 years of professional experience in artistic-cultural management and production. She is a founding member and co-director of the Cultural Association elgalpon.espacio de Pueblo Libre, a cultural space and project with 14 years of cultural activism in the city of Lima. Since 2015, she works as Professor of Performing and Performance Arts at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad Científica del Sur and Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. CECILIA VILCA OCHARAN

Cecilia is a Peruvian transartist chola, feminist techno-witch and language activist. Digital Arts Master’s Degree, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. GIS and Atlas Design, Full scholarship, University of Twente, The Netherlands. Founding member of the creative and digital heritage division, MyAP-Microscopía Electrónica y Aplicaciones en el Perú. Her artistic work is made with technology in concept and realization exploring its relationship with gender, society, and nature. Her main goal and poetic is to encourage reflection through revelation using technology.

From a decolonizing vision a large part of her projects develop in the borders of art and science. Connecting ancient technologies with the new ones to reflect and protect the identity of our peoples. She has a deep commitment to the cultural heritage of her country Peru. Using technology to preserve, disseminate and understand it. Interested in transdisciplinary projects with teams from different countries and professional backgrounds with a special emphasis on performers artists (body-genre), scientists (art-science) and indigenous communities (nature and ancestral technology). Six Art Residency Programs: Mexico, Bolivia, and Brazil. Independent International Program Committee of ISEA2020 Member. Journal of Science and Technology of the Arts Reviewer.

She has exhibited her work, organized exhibitions, and given lectures in Peru, Mexico, Bolivia, Argentina, Spain, Cuba, Chile, Norway, Colombia, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, and the USA. Born, lives and dreams in/from Lima, Peru.
